Northpoint Elementary offers families a welcoming environment full of dedicated and knowledgeable teachers that go above and beyond at meeting the needs of their students while creating opportunities for learning to be fun for all! Strong leadership from a seasoned administrator (who knows students and families by name within weeks) reinforces the emphasis placed on character building and partnership with families as key to student growth and achievement. My children are proud to be Northpoint Knights!

We really, really wanted to love this school. The campus is lovely in a classically monastic way (it used to be a monastery) and we were reminded frequently that even the gardening design was based on biblical principles. Unfortunately, the old-school pre-Vatican vibe does not stop there and takes a disturbingly oppressive, authoritarian and non-transparent tone when it comes to dealing with administration. The principal ( a former nun herself, who is actually on record a decade+ ago saying she left her first teaching position abruptly because she 'didn't like the bureaucracy') is fond of announcing that she has a personal mission to make sure every student can afford the Catholic education there; speciously implying that St. Augustine is somehow more affordable than *other* Catholic school in Tucson. This is far from true: the tuition is on par if not a bit higher than others - and in any case, everyone has access to the same CTSO financial aid no matter where they attend. If you qualify for financial aid assistance, you can easily get it whether you attend St. Augustine or not. At our interview we were required to meet with a financial aid officer who did nothing but walk us through the CTSO (AZ Catholic Tuition assistance Organization). This is standard in Catholic schools - for every student who cannot afford, they simply make certain they can get their $ by other means. St Augustine hardly has a lock on affordable tuition, and I found it insulting and misleading that they seemed to imply they did. One of the first requirements when we applied, in fact, was to submit a record of any PRIOR tuition assistance aid we'd received; and this is NOT standard. The ask for 'proof' that some outside organization has you (them) covered for tuition before they even let you apply - comes off as disappointingly money-grubbing. There is no other word for it. Additionally, one of the very first questions they asked us was whether our child had an IEP. This was completely out of context, out of the blue - we had just made initial contact and had not mentioned anything about special ed. needs or learning accommodations. I found it just weird that that they were clearly sorting for this particular thing right up front. It became clear to me later when I learned of their Learning Lab - a remedial-type classroom for those with special needs which had just received a LOT of funding. Another cash cow. Sadly, it had nothing to do with us. Red flags everywhere.

We had our worse experience in this school with my son. Anderson the principle took my child for a trial. I told her that I am looking for a school that supported his needs. I was open about every single detail about him. She oversold her school and said it sounds a great fit. Nonetheless, we are experienced family with several local and in the Bay Area private schools in which all amazing quality. It turned out that she did not take my son bc of the exactly disability he has and I was very upfront. That alone wasn't the biggest issues. Anderson loves gossiping and called my child's previous school and said horrible things. That school contacted immediately. Anderson has zero respect for kids. She could just not take him and stay as it is. But, call and talk about my son for a school that actually like him it looked so bad on her. Both schools are local. The academics were very disappointed. All public schools and private school is very ahead of the academics here. My son was introduced in April to the coins and he was introduced the year prior in kindergarten. He ended uo teaching the kids that day and every day. My son reported kids calling bad names constantly and teachers just ignoring. I am still wondering if this is a school for kids with bad behavior and poor academic performance after my son reported so many of both issues. Don't waste your time. There are great private schools around here.

Being new to the school/ neighborhood (Temporarily ONLY) displaced due to the pandemic & it’s devastation which caused us to lose several members of our family along with cancer. The financial hit was one thing but we know we can recover from..The after affects of C19 are what we’re focused on which includes what is called Covid brain (brain fog & more) to 16 lung nodules for the foreseeable future which must be checked annually all while newly discovering one of my children has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease & uveitis (injection for the for seeable future) all of this on top of being an asthmatic family. Throughout all of this we never complain or like to speak on what we’re going through for others are going through if not worse then what we are experiencing/experienced. God strengthens us & always has! Initially the school’s welcome was lukewarm (to say the least) My child’s teacher would wave & smile with a warm greeting (all of that would soon change & all I can do is pray for her that’s how I was raised). Unfortunately, the office staff showed no signs of emotion, compassion or empathy..so condescending, dismissive with rude undertones. This does not speak to the sentiment all of the teachers & staff at this school however, over time the energy changed that’s only because leadership always sets the standard & the tone while some may have a mind of their own & don’t allow their character, morals or beliefs to be swayed by others in any way, shape or form I can’t say that for all. Some are still able to execute professionalism (without judgement) with full confidence, conviction & compassion while making a positive impact in their student’s lives. I speak from not only a parent, caregiver (former) teacher perspective but as a human being who leads with not only my experience & education (no one knows it all) for I’m teachable & do my job with love, compassion, understanding & most of RESPECT for ALL I encounter. Negativity doesn’t live nor festers within me. I have an issue I address it the way I feel others would want to be treated that’s it that all! Kindness goes a long way for you never know one’s story & if I can be a light in someone’s life I did my job as a human being in the world. I just pray that this school receive the retraining that’s needed to be able to make a difference in the next family that may be going through a transition whatever that may look like because none of us are perfect. God Bless!

The principal is neutral about important issues. He will not have teachers backs during important problems that arise. Good people come to this school and quickly leave due to lack of support from administration and too much additional work added to their plates. The teachers here are such a great team and very hard working.

Our son attended middle school at BHS. We are very happy with our decision to have placed him there. The school provided attention and support for his growth during the critical middle school years. They nurtured his academic development and focused on building character and values. They were impressive with providing opportunities for our son to take on challenges, develop important life skills and study habits. Our son loved the outdoor space in the expansive campus, providing ample room for children to explore, play, and learn in a natural environment. He also enjoyed the small class size, formed meaningful connections with all his classmates and teachers. BHS is a well-established school, apparent in every aspect of its operation. The staff is diligent and committed to ensuring great experience for students. They are incredibly adept at organizing school events, creating memorable experiences that bring the community together. Teachers and parents alike were warm and friendly.

Teaching is great. However, Grace Christian School practices anything but Grace. They are basically unforgiving and unfeeling. Ice bag sandwich Aldrin to the school. They will harm your child And never looked at it. They’re completely superficial caring more about looks when you do about God

I was a student and it was the absolute worst experience I’ve had. Conditions in this school were poor and I only saw one old janitor cleaning from 11-6. Bathrooms were also in terrible conditions, especially the gender neutral bathrooms; which included inappropriate writing, unplaced items, and urine everywhere. There are some teachers in this school that either liked you or did not care about you at all. For example, when you make a specific teacher mad, they say, “shut up” and yell to the whole class, setting up a bad example for students. Talking to the counselor about, it was not helping at all other than just talk to the teacher about it, which did not change anything. When parents reach out to the counselor about a problem through email, they don’t even reply. This displays a horrible work ethic. Additionally, when trying to change classes, you have to TELL the teacher why you aren’t “suited” for that class. So when telling your reasons the counselor, it’s useless because they won’t do anything if you are not comfortable in a situation. The counselor will continue to ask irrelevant questions in your switch and it’s truly disturbing. Speaking on teachers, there are some teachers that grade you based on how you behave in class. The way you behave affects your letter grade which is truly despicable. Some Students are also not well-behaved and therefore, disturb the whole class ambiance. They slack and go to the bathroom just to skip class and either play with their phone in the restroom or vape. I’ve encountered multiple scenarios and needless to say it’s “weird”. When looking at the brighter side, this school has a great sport reputation and range of electives but other than that, there are barely any students that participate in clubs. School is underfunded because people are barely involved due to the teachings of this school. Too many kids are in this school and kids barely learn.

I'm delighted with The Goddard School's care for my nephew. Lixia and Janeth, his teachers, are fantastic. They create a warm, playful atmosphere where my nephew thrives. I'm thankful for their exceptional care!
